Adding Users to Alerts

This article will take us through the process of adding users to alerts that have been created on specific devices. 

Alerts are usefull for time stamping issues on the system but the Polar Portal takes us the next step further by being able to notify people via a number of different channels. by adding users to alerts we can make the alert much more meaniful and provoke action for the fault or issue. 

The current support notification options are: 

  • SMS 
  • E-Mail 
  • Push Notifications (Andriod Only) 

The Procedure

Make sure the users are part of the device subscription

To begin with ensure that the user you are trying to notify is part of the device that you have setup the alert for. If you are unsure on this please head to “Adding Users” to learn more about how to add users and how to add them to “subscriptions” 

Go to Device Alerts tab

Navigate to the appropriate device dashboard and head to the alerts Tab. 

Once there clieck on the “Notifications” tab in the left hand window. 

If you have setup your users correctly you will now see a list of all the users that are active to view this device. 

Tick the boxes

Then its as simple as ticking the various tick boxes to enable them to receive alerts and ticking the appropriate alert they wish to receive. 

Note: Users ticked in this list will receive notifications for all alerts active on the Alerts page.
