Creating A Subscription
Subscriptions are how the system groups Polar Gateways and users together. In short if a Gateway is on the same Subscription as a user then that user will be able to see the gateway and all the devices attached to it.
One will generally create a subscription 1st so that when setting up a Gateway and users they can be added to this Subscription at the same time.
To start you will click on the subscriptions tab on the home screen.
This will take you to a screen showing all the subscriptions you have access to. In this view you will see a brief on when the account was created, number of users on that subscription etc.
To add an additional subscription, follow below steps:
- Click the grey plus button on the top right of your page
- Then input a name for the subscription, this is typically the company or sites name.
- Parent subscriptions are used to tier the access levels to sites, companies or Gateways. A parent can view and be part of all child subscriptions below. Where as child subscriptions cannot view other subscriptions in their tree above or next to themselves. e.g Parent subscriptions can essentially view your devices but you won’t be able to view theirs.
Once added the process is complete.
If a subscription needs to be edited at a later stage this can be done via the edit button next to the appropriate subscription name.
